Few event organisations get the opportunity – or are up to the task - of creating an event in the Turbine Hall, with all its restrictions and regulations. Rouge relished it! The sponsored exhibition was on the external façade of Tate Modern and to avoid the worst of British summers we seized the opportunity to bring the street into the former power station and hold the event in the iconic Turbine Hall.
Rouge integrated two-specially commissioned artworks into the event, dressed the space with graffiti art and a central sculpture from recycled junk. Street food was served on hubcaps to an eclectic guestlist of motor journalists, artists, tastemakers and creatives.
The event featured a Qashqai converted into a DJ booth; a GT-R Supercar; and a prototype for the Denki Cube electric vehicle. Parkour artists leapt from cars and gallery walls, followed by an award-winning jump rope display, and legendary UK beatbox champion Beardyman delivered an amazing performance before all artists came together in a spontaneous unscheduled dance-off which sent the crowd wild.
